The new housing development is located on the border of Sheffield City in Kelham Island, an area shaped by the industrial history of the River Don and Sheffield’s legacy as the "Steel City." Once a hub for steel production, Kelham Island has now transformed into a modern development zone. Nestled within the natural landscape of hills, rivers, and woodlands, the project draws inspiration from the harmonious integration of urban and natural environments. Drawing parallels with the ancient Chinese concept of utopia, where mountains symbolize refuge and renewal, the development aims to create a peaceful, community-oriented living space that balances modern living with a sense of tranquility and escape.
